Sometimes Goodbye is a Second Chance

This may be your golden opportunity!
Many people know this as popular song on the radio today. But think about it! Is this what you have been looking for; a second chance?
You were secure in your job, and now you are laid off. What can you do? Here’s your second chance. Will you can panic, worry and get lazy? Or will you look for the opportunity you always wanted to do? It may not pay the best in the beginning, but sometimes if we find our niche, we feel much better than if we were back in the chaos of corporate life.
Here are some appetizers for your brain
- If you have wanted to write, start a blog. Write an e-book. Write short stories.
- If you like music and can play an instrument, now you have time. Get together with others you know. It may turn into something.
- Do you like to teach and help people? Volunteer somewhere. Present a class at the library or nursing home. Put some inexpensive classes together for people in a niche you know.
- Do you enjoy lawn work and the outside? Start a landscaping business on the side. It may turn into something and you can go full time.
- Do you enjoy working with your hands? Make the special piece of furniture you have always wanted to make. Or make that special piece of clothing or blanket you have had your eye on.
- Maybe you have had your eye on a small business opportunity, but couldn’t decide whether to leave your job for it, or even try to squeeze it into your already busy schedule. Now’s the time to test the waters and see if it’s for you.
While you are doing all this, remember that you still should be looking for fulltime work and then weigh your options when a job is presented to you. You can always turn the offer down if your newfound opportunity turns out to be your dream job. This may be the best time of your life!
