Five things spouses shouldn’t say to a laid off guy

Lets face it, women and men don’t think alike. It’s stressful being a laid off guy.  Sorry women, this is the side of the fence I’m on. With all the things we have to do at home for ourselves, our families, and our friends, time is a precious commodity.  We don’t need to be bothered with details.

After a significantly small amount of thought, here are things a wife/significant other should not say to a laid off guy

  • What is your schedule today?  Does it matter?  You’re going to be at work anyway, right?
  • Did you do anything on the list? Um, what list?
  • What else did you do today?  Look around.  If it looks like I did nothing, I probably did nothing.
  • How many resumes did you send today?  You can only apply to just so many jobs before you wear out.  Relax, I’ll find a job soon!
  • Did you call the unemployment office?  Um,yeah! How else do you expect me to support my unemployed habit?
